Dick’s universe, or PKD universe, is a study of Philip K. Dick’s written works from the 1950s and ‘60s, and subsequent adaptions, to help construct the Total Recall timeline. Total Recall 2070 heavily draws from Dick’s Universe bridging elements from the film adaptions, Blade Runner and Total Recall.

Unfortunately, director Len Wiseman screwed up the Total Recall timeline by placing Total Recall (2012) in the year 2084, as the events from Total Recall 2070 take place after Total Recall (1990). Note that the final 1989 script by Ronald Shusett and Dan O’Bannon does NOT indicate a year 2084.

Timeline reconstructionEdit

The following timeline is a reconstruction based on Dick’s and Scott’s timelines threaded through the Blade Runner universe.
  • Paul Verhoeven’s Total Recall (before 2019), Note: Total Recall (2012) reinforces the android concept with a presence of unskinned (service-like) androids. Scrap Len Wiseman‘s out-of-place 2084.
  • Art Monterastell’s Total Recall 2070, follows events much after the original Total Recall. In this universe, Rekall does not use implants and discs anymore.
